One of our clients, who came to us with an idea to start a care business ten years ago, has just recruited their 100th staff member and plans further expansion. We have worked with this company to prepare business plans, secure contracts through tenders, manage employee issues, manage their payroll, bookkeeping and company accounts as well as continue to provide business advice as required.
Social Enterprise
A Yorkshire based client who operates as a Company Limited by Guarantee has just secured project finance to develop their services for young people in their local area. With ongoing support in bookkeeping, preparation of interim accounts and help applying for grants they had the confidence to apply for Tour de France funding and can now provide the arts project over the coming months.
Business Survival
Even the worst of times can be overcome with the right support. When one of our clients was forced into bankruptcy by circumstances outside his control we successfully prepared a case to show the receivers that the business should be allowed to continue. Since this happened, the business has gone from strength to strength allowing life to return to normal for the business owner.
Problem Solved
When a business owner came to us in the middle of a tax investigation, which was caused by his accountant at the time setting losses on a rental property against business profits, we were able to sort the issue quickly and painlessly. Although he did have to repay some tax, all penalties were scrapped. He is now a happy client of ours and has recommended many more clients to us since then.
Benefit where it’s Due
When a new business was struggling with cash flow and the partners in the business were finding it difficult to cope we introduced them to Working Tax Credit. This meant that they received an additional £50 per week towards their living costs. This has allowed them to take less from the business so that the cash could be used to build up trade. Many self- employed people are unaware that Tax Credits can apply to them too.
Business Moves on up
Ongoing business success for one of our retail businesses has led to him relocating to a town centre. The additional footfall has meant a substantial increase in trade and profits. We helped with business plans for the bank so that the business could secure a loan for additional fixtures and fittings which now look great in the new showroom.
